If It Isn’t Love: It Takes a Village to Raise a New Edition Movie

“Nobody, but nobody, can make it out here alone.” – Maya Angelou

The Weekly Journey:

People often ask me, “Princess, why are you so passionate about this story? Why do you keep pushing when sometimes it feels like it may never happen?” And my answer is always the same: because I have a village behind me.

What keeps me going is that every time I ask for help or assistance: whether it’s advice, connections, or support, people always say yes. Why? Because they get it. They understand the vision. They feel the passion. And deep down, they also want and need this type of story in their lives.

When I think about going to the movies and seeing someone on the screen who looks like me, it’s rare. Too rare. But instead of getting mad about it, I decided to do something about it. That’s what this film is. Not just a dream, but an act of purpose.

A movie of this magnitude isn’t created by a single person. It takes family, friends, managers, agents, producers, music legends, cast members, fans, and complete strangers who become allies. It takes a team. It takes faith. It takes all of us.

And beyond just making a film, the goal is bigger: to create a Christmas cult classic that we can all enjoy every year for the rest of our lives, just like New Edition.

Memory Lane:

The truth is, the reason New Edition has lasted for decades isn’t only because of their talent. It’s because of the peoplewho stood by them, the fans who bought every album, went to every show, taped their posters to the wall, and passed their music down to the next generation.

We, the fans, are part of their story. We’ve played a role in keeping their music alive and appreciated. And now, with If It Isn’t Love, I want to make sure that same spirit flows into the film.

This isn’t just my movie. It’s ours.

Lesson of the Week:

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that movies, like legacies, are not built alone. They are built on faith, teamwork, collaboration, and community.

If It Isn’t Love isn’t just a movie, it’s a movement. We have so many other elements coming: merchandise, music, workshops, stories, fan engagement, because the goal is not just to watch a film, but to be part of something larger.

And I want to thank every single person: my family, my friends, my team, and every NE4Lifer who’s reading this blog, for walking this journey with me. From the bottom of my heart: we’re just getting started.

Call to Action:

How do you want to participate or get involved? 🧡

Because together we’re not just making a movie.

We’re making history.
